🧭 Explorer Beta — Tester Guide · Round 2

Thank you for testing Explorer! It's a learning game for kids — math, reading, money, and science — that teaches first, then adapts to each child's level and reports progress to the parent. It's still in beta, so your honest feedback is what makes it better. This page explains each part and, at the end, exactly what to tell us and how.

New in Round 2: you told us, we changed it

From Round 1 feedback (thank you!):

Brand new:

Round 2 questions are in the form below, marked NEW.

1. Getting it running

1
Open the link we sent in Chrome or Edge and play right there — it's a website, so there's nothing to download and no app store. Optional: tap “Install app” (or “Add to Home screen”) to get a home-screen icon and let it work offline — that just saves the page to your device; it's still not a file download.
2
“Who's playing?” — type the child's name. Each name keeps its own separate progress, so make one for each child who tests.
3
Pick a Subject (Math, Reading, Money & Finance, or Science) and a World (a theme the child likes), then press Start.
4
First time in a subject, tap “🎯 Find my level.” The game gives a short placement check to find the right starting difficulty — let the child answer honestly (guessing throws it off).

2. What each part is — and what to watch for

The questions (each Subject)

For Reading, Money, and Science, a short “Learn it” lesson shows at the top first — the idea in small bites — then the questions. Math leads with the problem and teaches through the help.

👀 Watch: Were the questions clear and easy to read? Too easy, just right, or too hard? Did the “Learn it” lesson actually help before the questions?

The Tutor (help when a question is missed)

When a child answers wrong, the game doesn't just say “wrong.” It gives a hint that teaches the method, then another, then finally shows how it's done — so a missed question becomes a lesson.

👀 Watch: When your child got one wrong, did the hints help them understand and try again?

My Buddy & the Buddy Room

Each child has a buddy character. In the “🎨 My Buddy” room they can customize it — looks, hats, and more. It's meant to make the game feel like theirs.

👀 Watch: Did your child like their buddy? Did they customize it, and was that easy to do?

The Rest Area (new)

After 10 questions a pulsing 🛝 Rest area! button appears (it's never forced). Inside: a bonus for the work just finished, then Star Catch. Move the basket with the arrow keys, an Xbox controller, or by tapping the left/right side of the screen. Every 5 stars brings one quick question from things your child already knows, worth a coin if right. Every sound also shows on screen as a caption, so it works fully with the sound off.

👀 Watch: Did your child find the Rest Area and want to use it? Could they move the basket on your device? Did it feel like a real break, and did they go back to learning afterwards?

Coins, Shop & Bank

Kids earn coins by learning, spend them in the Shop, and can save toward a goal in the Bank. The Bank also shows a friendly “Did you know?” money fact each time — teaching real money sense as they play.

👀 Watch: Did earning coins keep them going? If they used the Bank, did the savings goals and money facts make sense?

The Parent Dashboard (for you)

The dashboard shows each child's progress per subject — strengths, weak spots, and what they've mastered. It's built to read like a report you could bring to a parent-teacher or IEP meeting.

👀 Watch: Open the dashboard — was it clear and useful to you as the parent?

3. What we need from you

Play with your child for a bit across a couple of subjects, then answer the questions below. Copy the form, fill in your answers, and email it back — details at the bottom. Short and honest beats long and polite.

4. Feedback form — copy this into an email

Select all of the text in the box, copy it, paste it into a new email, and type your answers after each line.
